An old video from a few years ago that talks about how then independent author Amanda Hocking used social media to create a brand. When I was a new author, and new at blogging, I tried to keep up with a blog too. But I just never got into blogging. Within a year or two I moved to this format of collecting stuff that interests me by posting about them. Both Pinterest and tumbler came around after.
Information about learning different subjects with spaced repetition. He talks about a few apps like Tiny Cards and Anki for space repetition. As a language learner, I personally am not a big fan of flashcards. I find Anki way too time consuming. I can get my spaced repetition in by rereading articles, listening to podcasts again, or watching a video I find on YouTube repeatedly to learn new vocabulary words or grammar concepts.
This post is about custom stickers at Zazzle.com. Gold glitter kiss, lips or lipstick photo print against a white or black background. You can customize to create your own RSVP or Thank You Sticker for a special event. The stickers are faux glitter. Please note that the lips design is created using a photo of glitter. Try another color for the background on these stickers if you'd like.
Tip for new Zazzle designers... now that we're limited to 100,000 products you don't have to create two stickers. You can edit a design in the system and then post the custom version to your blog or Pinterest account from one product.
I was wandering around at IFTTT and saw the Parrot Flower Power showing the many applets one can use to save their plant. With my abilities to take care of plants, I can use all the help I can get! I am interested in the sensor in particular.

Image editing option at Zazzle that allows you to fit your entire image into the print area. With a transparent background PNG image, this is a great option. But if you have a JPG photo image, there will be borders. See also this post featuring the same design.
Here is a sample screenshot of the fill option for adding a transparent PNG image to a Zazzle. With this option, you can see the total image fills the entire print area and because the edges are transparent it doesn't really matter that the image is cropped. I left some transparent space in the image around the image of the red dragon, but on this luggage tag at Zazzle, the red dragon still extends a little beyond the green dotted line or safe area, so it would be helpful to use the Scale option and scale out. Of course, for creative effect some people want some of their image to extend behind the print area.
Create your own luggage take for someone visiting Wales. Bright red and white Welsh dragon silhouette or shape on one side, with room for contact information on the other. You can try a different background color to make your luggage stand out on the carousel.
Can you add foreign languages to custom products at Zazzle?
Yes. I have been able to create some t-shirts and other custom gifts at Zazzle with several different languages.
If you have friends or family that speak Japanese, Chinese, Russian,
Spanish, German or some other language that doesn't use the Roman
alphabet... give it a go. Try a few different fonts and find the selections that can handle non-English characters. Zazzle also has a handful of foreign language fonts that are good to go.
Custom gifts with an enhanced version of the Blue Marble photo of earth. This is an adapted image that was reworked to function on products. This image in my store or stores is my own creation that is only inspired by or based on the NASA Apollo Mission photo.
A side note for new designers wondering about public domain images...
Be careful where you find public domain images! The moment that I adapted this public domain images, it became my adaptation. This particular image is no longer public domain as it wasn't a NASA employee that created it ... but it is my work that created this image.
I actually had someone that didn't understand this aspect of using public domain images try to republish this image that I created into their store on Zazzle for resale. That is, of course, impossible to do at Zazzle. Zazzle only allows customers to customize products for their own personal use, not for resale. Zazzle's terms of service don't allow …
A small group of mallard ducks swimming in the Truckee River in downtown Reno on Black Friday. The muted greens in this vintage effect at Aviary works great with the water, but not necessarily the mallard drakes.
Some turkeys wandering around a few days after Thanksgiving! These tasty peacocks (answer to a Jeopardy question) aren't native to Nevada! Some idiot set them free. Who would set turkeys free to fend for themselves in a desert?

A small group of mallard ducks swimming in the Truckee River in downtown Reno on Black Friday. The vintage style Arizona effect at Aviary has been applied to this digital photo. This digital effect really lightened up the bright spot on the water... possibly making it a great vintage effect for scrapbooking where people want to add text in one area of a photo.
