The book sounds really interesting to me, so part of the reason I'm writing this is so I don't forget about the book. My brother was better at motivating people than I am. It is part of my personality to expect that people come into a situation pre-motivated on their own. Added to this, I tend to view people that want to change the behavior of others as manipulative. Yet, at the same time, having been a teacher for many years I know some people just aren't self-starters and that positive reinforcement works wonders. So, books like this are always a nice reminder on tips and techniques working with people that need more attention than I do. Particularly when bringing the techniques from the social realm into a business model.
But then, on the other hand, the cover quote brings up Apple. I ask myself ... do I really find Apple enchanting?
Rep. Anthony Weiner Photos Scandal: Ann Coulter Weighs In On 'GMA' - http://youtu.be/0Ohq4IBJMaw - actually features more interview time regarding Ann Coulter's latest book Demonic. It sounds a bit interesting. I was up in Oregon this past weekend and every time I visit the Portland area I can't help but sit in heavy traffic and look at all the Obama 08 bumper stickers and wonder how so many urban Oregonians get talked into liberal thought. Because, basically, if you consider how liberals generally think about cars and the use and drilling of gasoline ... Portland is the problem and not the solution, and yet Portland is very liberal. It is cities like Portland where it is too expensive to live close to work that people have to commute long distances. In my town it is the exact opposite. Some of the cheapest housing is close to where the majority of people work so we have a relatively small percentage of our population commuting long distances. Yet here where I live people tend to be more conservative ... though we did vote for Obama in 2008. Of course, I can't consider myself liberal because I'm pro-life. That's a whole other story.
Pelosi: Blame unemployment on Boehner, GOP - "Democratic House Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) spoke with Bob Schieffer on the recent economic downturn, the Democratic plan for job creation, and if they can reach an agreement with the GOP on debt reduction." Schieffer asked her some tough questions. He called her on past statements she made regarding Bush, and why she hasn't applied her same standards to Obama.
