Retro Pink Rose Scrapbook Photo

Retro Pink Rose, originally uploaded by AnnaleeBlysse.

At Picnik.com they have a 1960s effect that recreates digital photos in a retro style. Fun idea for creating unique scrapbooks. This idea and others at my Creative Images with Picnik lens at Squidoo.

I use the interface at flickr to access my Picnik account, but that isn't needed. Both flickr and Picnik offer relatively easy ways to print photos online ... though you can save the files and print locally.

Picnik Hair Color Fun!

Today I was having fun with the Tint option at Picnik ...

This video where I learned the technique isn't enabled to embed in a blog, you'll have to transfer over to YouTube to watch it. But, the creator "curiouskiwi" is definitely a pro at Picnik so you'll have to check out her other videos anyway.

I used the techniques to create blue roses. Though, as you can see in the video you can use Picnik to create those funky rainbow colored roses with a few minutes of editing.

PhotoShop User

This was the last of the nine PhotoShop mousepads that I picked to update my Paint Shop Pro versus PhotoShop Squidoo Lens lens this week. I'll endeavor to update the lense from time to time with new mousepads that artists used primarily PhotoShop or Paint Shop Pro Photo to create. If you're a Zazzler and have some artwork you'd like to nominate send a message or post them in the forum here so I can find them in the future.

Madame Butterfly Fantasy Art Mousemat Mouse Pad

A lovely mousepad created By WitchysCauldron using PhotoShop: "And this one was created from a bald naked 3D model! fabric, jewelery, hair, makeup and background were all digitally hand painted in PhotoShop, as were refinements to the original model." I've been posting them all day as I'm updating one of my Squidoo lenses and I'm keeping these items for future reference.

Scripture Mousepad from Zazzle.com

Scripture Mousepad from Zazzle.com ~ Peaceful golden sunset with Bible scripture Psalm 113:3, "From the rising of the sun to its going down, the Lord's name is to be praised." What a lovely photograph, and the scripture is perfect. Definitely a favorite at Zazzle. I found this mousepad asking for mousepads to include in one of my Squidoo lenses. The artist at LivingLife uses PhotoShop Elements.

Some Lovely Postcards from The Bahamas

I keep a Bahamas page in the gift shop on my Website with products I'd created and today one of the sales included one of my tees and these two great postcards at Zazzle. Someone buying their souvenirs online. I can see why they bought these two lovely postcards.

Fstasu50 describes this absolutely beautiful photograph of the beach at sunset at Paradise Island: "Paradise Island is an island in the Bahamas, north of the island of New Providence which is home to (Nassau). Paradise Island is connected to the island of New Providence by two bridges that cross Nassau Harbour. The first was built in 1966 and the second in the late 1990s."

Creating a Starburst Effect with Paint Shop Pro

The simple way to create a starbust effect using Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI is to start with a vertical stripes pattern. In this case I'll use two colors.

Start with File -> New... and create a image that is 100 x 100 choosing one of the colors of your starburst pattern.

start with blue square

Then go to Image -> Add Borders... and add 100 pixel border to right only using second color in your starburst pattern.

add border of second color

Now create a New image of larger size (2400 x 2400). Use the Flood Fill Tool to fill the larger image with your striped pattern by changing the Background and Fill Properties in the Materials Palette.

flood fill with your pattern

Now go to Effects -> Distortion Effects -> Polar Coordinates... and apply "Rectangular to polar".

apply rectangular to polar effect

And, you get your starbust pattern...

To create a concentric circle pattern ... apply the "Rectangular to polar" Polar Coordinates effect to horizontal stripes.
